Hello defense attorney Mark Rosenfeld here outside the San Bernardino courthouse again I wanted to do a quick video on the timing of a criminal case some cases just take a really long time because that’s what’s in the client’s best interest sometimes there’s a delay in the defense investigation sometimes there’s delay from the prosecution in getting evidence or having witness availability today in court we were scheduled for a suppression motion where we’re arguing that the police did not have a reason to stop detain arrest and them ultimately draw my client’s blood and the defense again was ready to go forward with trial but the district attorney was late to the case and they did not have the correct witnesses available to go forward with the hearing so the judge granted the district attorney another continuance which pushes this case well over over a year and a half into two years that we have been defending it so in that time my client continues to drive continues to work and we continue to defend the case but people always ask why is the case taking so long shouldn’t it go quickly don’t we have a right to a speedy trial and you do have a rght to a speedy trial but more important is you want the right to a fair trial and you want to be able to run your motions get your evidence get your record and properly defend the case if you’ve got questions about handling criminal matter in southern california you can reach me directly at 310-424-3145 work with your attorney trust your attorney and be prepared that things can take a lot longer than you ever imagined but my client is not guilty he was not guilty and he remains not guilty and we will continue to the case.
